What is the VASER ultrasonic liposuction machine?

This is a fairly new device introduced in 2000. When this model came out Dr. Michael Byun taught other doctors how to use it as well as informed them of its positive effects.

Fifteen years ago, the liposuction machine used was not ultrasonic. The older generation machines would involve excess bleeding during surgeries, and would give a lumpy, sagging loose skin appearance after surgery.

Ultrasonic is the study of the uses and properties of sound waves of very high frequency. This piece of equipment demonstrates 36,000 pulses per second, bursting and melting the fat cells.

The tumescent solution: a mixture of 1% Lidocaine, Lactated ringer, and Epinephrine, is first induced into the area to inflate the cells. This makes it easier to break down the fat cells to suction out with the probes. The tumescent solution also reduces bleeding unlike the previous model. In addition, as a positive side effect, it is found that the suction probe tightens the skin during the liposuction process.
